Govt to support small businesses for empowering women artisans, skilled workers: Ali Nawaz

The government has announced financial support to Small & Medium Enterprises (SMEs) and all those businesses that aim to empower deprived classes , particularly women artisans, skilled labourers.
These views were expressed by Special Assistant to Prime Minister for Capital Development Authority (CDA) Ali Nawaz Awan at the launch of an exhibition by a new brand ‘Fashion Bee’ and its collection ‘Meraki.’
Ali Nawaz Awan assured the Fashion Bee the government’s assistance in achieving its goal of serving the community at large.
The brand showcased their purely handmade formals, semi formals and casuals by focusing on all the socio-economic classes so that everyone can afford the brand.
During the exhibition that concluded on Sunday the Fashion Bee promoted purely handmade work of artisans, stated a statement by the newly launched brand.
The brand has entered the fashion world with a positive and different approach, to train the untrained skillful people, and provide a platform to women so that they can earn their livelihood.
President Islamabad Chambers of Commerce & Industry (ICCI) Shakeel Munir said it was a matter of satisfaction that new entrants are coming in the fashion industry. “The ICCI will provide a free platform to the Fashion Bee to exhibit its products which will not only help to introduce its products but also generate employment,” he said adding, the ICCI would also give financial support to the vulnerable.
Adviser to Governor Punjab, Chaudhary Ansar also spoke on the occasion and highlighted various dimensions of the fast growing fashion industry.
We will provide Fashion Bee with a platform outside Pakistan to introduce its products in particular Africa & the UK, he said.
This will help other communities to know what Pakistan’s artisan sector is all about and our exports will grow.
Junaid Elahi, President of Fashion Bee expressed his gratitude to the esteemed guests for gracing the occasion and expressing encouraging remarks about his brand.
Elahi said Fashion Bee aimed to put all the profit generated by the exhibition to charity through which the artisans would be empowered.
Fashion Bee will also introduce the Pakistani clothing culture beyond Pakistan to promote Pakistan, the people and culture.
