Special Assistant to the Chief Minister Punjab for Information, Parks & Horticulture Authorities and Tourism Hasaan Khawar has said that Punjab will stand tall as a true champion of democracy, a delegation of powers and an embracive governance model when compared with Sindh’s local government laws.
He said that Punjab’s will be a cyclopedic and cover-all local government system in which women and persons with disabilities will also be given the opportunity to participate in elections.
Addressing a press conference along with Mian Mehmood Ur Rasheed, Minister Local Government Punjab at Al-Hamra on Tuesday, Hasaan Khawar advised Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah to focus on Sindh as the present wind of change will only suit the one who would deliver better.
He said that the local government system of Punjab will be organized and ideal in which services will be delivered and problems of the people would be solved at their doorsteps in the real sense of the word. This law would prove to be a historic law in which the emerging authorities would be fully empowered and autonomous, and would be able to make their own decisions, he added.
