Today is the 29th anniversary of Babri Masjid demolition by BJP-RSS led Hindu mob with tacit approval of the then-Congress government in 1992 exposing India’s extremist face to the world.
According to a report released by Kashmir Me-dia Service on this day, the 16th century Babri Mas-jid in Ayodhya was reduced to rubble by extremist Hindus on December 6, 1992.
What is more agonizing than the demolition of the Babri Masjid itself is the biased role of the In-dian top judiciary, which in November 2019 had allowed the Hindus to construct a temple at the site of the historic Masjid. While announcing the ver-dict, Indian Supreme Court gave priority to Hin-dutva ideology.
Not only this, the top Indian court also acquitted BJP veterans like L.K. Advani in-volved in demolition of Babri Masjid.
The report maintained that Indian top court’s bi-ased verdict has attested to Hinduization of India, which is becoming increasingly intolerable for Mus-lims in the country. Ayodhya verdict took prece-dence over all principles of justice and international norms.
Ironically, the former top court judge, Chief Jus-tice Gogoi was rewarded for pronouncing verdict in Babri Masjid case that was in line with a key ideo-logical commitment of BJP.
He was picked for Ra-jya Sabha by BJP-led Indian govt after ruling in favor of Hindus in the Babri Masjid case.
In India, particularly under Modi, the KMS re-port said, religious sites of Muslims are vandalized by Hindutva forces with impunity.
RSS-backed BJP has marked thousands of mosques for demolition and to build temples in their place in India. Even Muslim names of institutions, places and highways are being rechristened to Hindu names.
The situa-tion has turned so ugly for Muslims that even ani-mals have more rights than Muslims in India.
They are tortured and killed in broad daylight on the pre-text of eating beef and transporting cattle.
The fact is the RSS-inspired BJP govt is plan-ning ethnic cleansing of Muslims, which needs ur-gent attention by the global community there has already been a warning of possible genocide of Muslims in India and illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir.—KMS
