Leader of the Opposition in National Assembly Shehbaz Sharif termed the current economic crisis a poison for the nuclear state of Pakistan and urged think-tanks to consider the seriousness of the situation.
According to a private news channel, Shehbaz has termed the historic rise of the dollar as a sign of a storm of the economic failure of the government and said record trade deficits are alarming indicators of the country’s economic collapse.
He said when the Ministry of Finance refutes the statement of its financial adviser; false statistics were given, enabling the state to put to the horrifying situation of an economy.
Shehbaz urged the government to open its eye and said the economic crisis is a poison for nuclear Pakistan and its security interests. The historic rise of the dollar is evidence of a lack of government and sound economic policy, said PML-N president.
The PML-N president said the high level of current account deficit is evidence of economic misdirection, adding that debt, inflation, deficit, and dollar’s high rate have broken the records.
The leader of the opposition has further said that the country has been pushed into an economic disaster.
