In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC) has condemned the frequent cordon and search operations (CASOs) carried out by Indian forces in the nook and corner of the territory.
APHC General Secretary, Molvi Bashir Ahmad Irfani in a statement issued in Srinagar said that Indian forces had let loose a reign of terror to suppress the ongoing freedom movement in the territory.
Innocent people are subjected to third degree torture and are threatened to face dire consequences if they don’t follow the dictates of the occupation forces, he said.
The Hurriyat leader said that Indian government is terminating Muslim employees from the civil administration to implement its Hindutva agenda in the territory.
He expressed serious concern over the increase in building of concrete bunkers across the territory to terrorize the besieged people.
He added that in violation of the United Nations resolutions on Kashmir and the commitments made by India before the international community to allow the Kashmiris to decide their political future through a free and fair plebiscite, the Indian fascist regime is tacitly doing everything to change the Muslim majority character of Jammu and Kashmir.
Molvi Bashir Ahmad urged India to shun its military approach regarding the Kashmir dispute.
He said that by increasing the number of armed forces and allotting them more and more lands, India was creating a dangerous situation in South Asia.
The APHC leader appealed to the United Nations to take cognizance of the prevailing volatile situation in the occupied territory and play role in settling the Kashmir dispute in accordance with the UN Security Council resolutions and aspirations of the Kashmiri people.—KMS
