In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, a Non-Government Organization (NGO) associated with Bharatiya Janata Party has siphoned off funds which was received from Delhi-based semi-government company during COVID-19 pandemic.

The NGO named ‘The Human Race’, has ostensibly shared the money with the company’s independent director, Sheela Koul, affiliated with BJP, who was appointed in 2019.

The NGO, Human Race, received around Rs 25 lakh from Railway Energy Management Company Limited (REMC) last year on women hygiene, health and nutrition.

The company on its website remcltd.com claims to have distributed sanitary kits containing napkins, hand sanitizers, hand wash, masks, soaps and other items.

However, the NGO has not spent so much in Kashmir valley and allegedly shared the money.

The NGO has transferred around Rs 5 lakhs into the personal account (08***40100001*675) of the company’s independent director, Sheela Koul’s husband from 3rd March to 29th March this year while another NGO based in Kulgam has also paid around Rs 3 lakh to this BJP leader.—KMS
