Denmark’s Foreign Minister Jeppe Kofod, who arrived at the Islamabad International Airport through a special chartered flight Friday visited various sections of the airport and lauded the facilities and arrangements made by the Civil Aviation Authority for emergency evacuation of foreign nationals during the recent Afghanistan crisis.
Ambassador of Denmark Lis Rosenholm and senior officials of the Embassy of Denmark in Pakistan were also present on the occasion.
According to a spokesperson of CAA, the airport manager and his team along with the Foreign Office officials welcomed the visiting dignitary and gave him a detailed briefing on the arrangements made for the evacuation operation.
The visiting foreign minister appreciated the Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority and the efforts of the airport staff for making extraordinary arrangements for evacuation.
The spokesman said the Danish FM also lauded the tireless round-the-clock work put in by the airport administration and its staff to deal with the emergency evacuation situation from Afghanistan.
Danish FM said he found Pakistan’s system different from that of Denmark but he could safely say that it surely worked and delivered.
