In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, the Hurriyat forum led by incarcerated Hurriyat leader, Mirwaiz Umar Farooq, has denounced the filing of cases under draconian law, UAPA, against the family members of late veteran leader, Syed Ali Gilani, by the Modi regime.
The forum in a statement issued in Srinagar said the details shared by the two sons of Syed Ali Gilani with media about the forcible custody of the body of the 92-year-old Hurriyat leader and its burial under military siege without the knowledge and participa-tion of the family members is appalling and painful.
“The action is inhuman as one can only imagine what the family must have gone through. After such harshness, the authorities are now harassing the family with cases and threats of arrests, further ex-posing their cruelty,” the statement added.—KMS
