LAHORE – Police have registered a case against around 400 unidentified persons for assaulting a woman in Lahore’s Greater Iqbal Park on Pakistan’s Independence Day.
The FIR has been registered on the complaint of the victim, who was visiting the place along with her friends, against suspects over charges of assault, stripping woman’s clothes, attempt to murder and theft, according to media reports.
The incident got public attention after a video went viral on social media, showing hundreds of men attacking a woman in the park.
The woman along with her friends, was making a TikTok video when a huge crowd of men of all ages scaled a fence and assaulted the woman.
The victim in the compliant said that the suspects groped her, thrashed her, tore off her clothes and also tossed her in the air violently.
She also accused them of robbing Rs15,000, a mobile phone and her gold ring.
Taking notice of the incident, Inspector General Punjab has ordered immediate arrest of the suspects.
