Nine Terrorists Killed, Hideouts Destroyed in North Waziristan IBOs

Security forces have killed nine militants during intelligence-based operations in multiple locations across North Waziristan district of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa.

The operations were carried out in Palangzai, Nadeem Kot and Kot Khazri, where several militant hideouts were destroyed.

A substantial quantity of weapons and ammunition was also seized, according to the sources.

Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif praised the security forces for eliminating the nine militants, commending their efforts in counterterrorism operations.

The latest development follows a series of operations a day earlier in which security forces killed 18 militants in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan.

Of these, 13 were killed in operations targeting militant hideouts in North Waziristan and adjoining areas, while five others were eliminated during an operation against Fitna al-Hindustan in Mastung.

Pakistan has faced an increase in militant violence, particularly in Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Balochistan, since the Afghan Taliban returned to power in Afghanistan in 2021.
