Says people defeated anti-state narrative in PP-38 Sialkot by-poll

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Monday announced launching rescue air ambulance service in the Punjab province soon.

“Punjab will become the first province to start this service and budget for the service has been allocated in the current fiscal year.”

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar was speaking at passing-out ceremony of 393 rescuers of KPK province and 73 rescue workers of Koh-e-Suleman area of DG Khan at Emergency Services Academy (ESA) Thokhar Niaz Beg here on Monday.

On the occasion, the chief minister assured to sympathetically review approval of risk allowance for rescuers on the pattern of Punjab police, adding that work will be started on the restoration of allowance for rescuers frozen since 2017.

“The government has expanded the scope of rescue services to 86 tehsils while motorbike ambulance service has been extended to 27 districts,” he continued.

“It is sanguine that Rescue 1122 has rescued a myriad people while responding to more than 9.6 million emergencies which are a unique honour for the institution,” he appreciated.

The CM also lauded that more than 20,000 rescuers of Punjab and other federating units have completed their training from the academy which enjoys the honour of being the first certified search and rescuers team by the UN.

He, however, regretted that board meeting of the PESD could not be convened for 10 long years by the past rulers, adding that the PTI government took several initiatives for betterment of the organization while holding regular board meetings.

Rescuers’ service structure has been created to ensure promotion opportunities for them, the CM informed and added that the government has given the status of an administrative department to Rescue 1122 and delegated the powers of a Secretary to its DG.

Earlier, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar witnessed rescuers’ performance in Emergency Services Academy Thokhar Niaz Beg and appreciated their skills. He inspected the parade and distributed shields to the best performers.

He was also presented a shield by Kamran Bangash on behalf of the KP government while DG Dr Rizwan Naseer administered the oath to passing-out rescuers.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar directed to ensure observance of corona SOPs during Muharram processions and Majalis.

The CM appealed to the participants to wear facemasks as it is in their interest to observe precautions in the wake of the fourth wave of corona.

Meanwhile, newly-elected PTI MPA from Sialkot, Ahsan Saleem Baryar called on Chief Minister Usman Buzdar.

Senior PTI leader Saleem Baryar and Principal Secretary to CM Tahir Khursheed were also present.

The CM greeted Ahsan Saleem Baryar and Saleem Baryar over the wonderful victory in PP-38 by-poll, adding that people defeated the anti-state narrative and chosen an honest and trustworthy candidate to represent them.

“The so-called slogan of giving respect to vote has died and the success of PTI shows that the politics of honesty will prevail. The voters have buried the negative politics,” Usman Buzdar declared.

He said the PTI is a populist political party and the voters have mandated to the power because of its marvellous performance.

The CM termed Ahsan Saleem Baryar as an asset to the party. The government has set the pace of development and no one will be able to stop it. I will soon visit Sialkot, concluded the chief minister.

Ahsan Saleem Baryar said that it is an honour and a privilege to be part of the CM team. Saleem Baryar vowed to move along with the Punjab CM for development and prosperity of the people. He also invited the CM to visit Sialkot and announced to further strengthen the PTI in the district.
