An emergency meeting of the Pakistan Flour Mills Association Punjab Multan Division was held on Wednesday under the chairmanship of Nawabzada Liaquat Ali Khan, Chaudhry Muhammad Jamil and Malik Mumtaz.

During the meeting, it was decided that if the Punjab government did not allow the flour mills to purchase wheat freely which was decided by the Punjab government at the beginning of the procurement season.

Once the target of 3.5 million tonnes is achieved, flour mills will be allowed to buy wheat for stock and grinding. Now that the target has been achieved 99%,

raids are being carried out on the flour mills and there is serious concern among the mill owners. As a result, wheat rates have gone up drastically

. Now unavailability of wheat with flour mills is resulted not only in an increase in the flour rate but has caused a shortage of flour in the market. They urged the government to take notice of the situation and take effective measures to address their concerns.
