Approves establishment of special children’s village in Sharaqpur

Punjab Chief Minister Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday said that opposition activities in past three years were against national interest and it even tried to score points over the recent unfortunate incidents.

Chief Minister Usman Buzdar was talking Provincial Ministers – Sardar Asif Nakai and Malik Nauman Ahmad Langrial who called on the CM and discussed matters of mutual interest, political situation and performance of departments were discussed.

Usman Buzdar said that Prime Minister Imran Khan always taken steps for betterment of Pakistan but on the other hand, only purpose of politics of opposition is to protect their corruption.

The chief minister further said that there is no importance of personal interest as compared to national interest and urged opposition to work for betterment of country as acting against interest of Pakistan not at all patriotism.

Meanwhile, Chief Minister Usman Buzdar inaugurated a digital mechanism, e-Abiana system, for water cess collection to facilitate farmers, making an end to the century-old water payment collection system.

The CM inaugurated the e-Abiana (water tax) billing system and announced that the century-old system for water tax collection system has come to an end today after the induction of the e-Abiana billing system.

He detailed that the e-Abiana system was initially launched in Canal Divisions Khanwa, Layyah, Kasur and Sheikhupura and it will be introduced across the province in phases.

Through the modern system, farmers will be issued computerised bills for water cess that would also end the exploitation of farmers and corruption.

The chief minister added that the modern system will ensure timely water payments besides getting financial assistance for looking after the canal system. During the ceremony, CM Usman Buzdar handed over e-Abiana bills to farmers.

Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar approved the proposal of setting up special children’s village at 104 kanal land retrieved from the squatters in Sharaqpur.

He directed to finalize the proposal adding that the latest technology be used to decrease construction cost while ensuring early completion of the project.

While chairing a meeting at his office on Wednesday, the CM said physically challenged children will be provided sports therapy and other facilities while sports ground will be utilized for multiple purposes.

The CM expressed the satisfaction that a provincial special education policy has been chalked out along with the introduction of an e-transfer policy for teachers of special education institutions.

Meanwhile, a special education mobile app has also been launched to help parents to get register their differently-abled child in a nearby institution, he added.

Meanwhile, MNAs including Sardar Riaz Mahmood Khan Mazari, Syed Faizul Hassan, Haji Imtiaz Ahmad Chaudhry and Bilal Asghar Warraich MPA, who called on CM Usman Buzdar and discussed different matters, lambasted the demeaning remarks of former PM Shahid Khaqan Abbasi about National Assembly Speaker.

Talking on the occasion, the CM regretted that some opposition parties undemocratically behaved adding that respect of the House is binding on all. It is unbecoming for a former PM to utter such inappropriate commends, he maintained.

The political style of the opposition is regrettable and it should realise that a befitting reply can be given to it, added the chief minister.

Meanwhile, CM Usman Buzdar said Allama Iqbal awakened the Muslims of the sub-continent from deep slumber adding that the idea of a separate homeland was a true reflection of his vision.

The CM said the idea was materialized under the leadership of Quaid-e-Azam Muhammad Ali Jinnah in a short span of 17 years.

Allama Iqbal was a harbinger of Muslim unity and addressed the whole of humanity through his poetry, he said.
