Zaheer Abbas Khokhar new Baitul Mal MD

The federal government has appointed Zaheer Abbas Khokhar as managing director of Baitul Mal. The federal cabinet approved the appointment of Zaheer Abbas Khokhar.

“I am grateful to Prime Minister Imran Khan who considered me eligible for the post of Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal Managing Director and approved my appointment through the Federal Cabinet.

Inshallah, I will use all my abilities in the service of the deprived class,” Malik Zaheer Abbas Khokhar said in a tweet.

Zaheer Abbas is an incumbent Regional General Secretary of PTI South Punjab and former President of PTI Lahore Wing.

The seat was vacant after former managing director of Pakistan Baitul Mal Aon Abbas Buppi became a senator.

Aon Abbas was also the former Regional General Secretary of PTI South Punjab. Aon Abbas also congratulated the newly appointed MD of Bait-ul-Mal and said, “I offer you my heartfelt congratulations.

I hope that you will take the organization to greater heights by carrying out all matters efficiently and in accordance with the vision of the Prime Minister. All my prayers, best wishes and support are with you.”

Pakistan Bait-ul-Mal is an autonomous body set up through 1991 Act and work for poverty alleviation through its pro-poor focused services and providing assistance to destitute, widow, orphan, invalid, infirm and other needy persons, as per eligible criteria approved by Bait-ul-Mal Board in order to provide social protection to the poor marginalized segments of the society.
