Minister suspends parking lot in-charge on complaints of overcharging

Provincial Minister for Local Government Syed Nasir Hussain Shah visited the Karachi Zoo on Sunday over complaints of overcharging of parking fee.

He was accompanied by Special Assistant Wildlife Bangal Khan Mahar, Administrator KMC Laiq Ahmed, Chief Conservator Wildlife Javed Mehr and others.

The minister suspended the in-charge of parking lot over finding misdoing. He ordered to arrest the other persons involved in corrupt practice.

He directed for improvement in the zoo’s entry point and for digitizing tickets.

The minister said that entry fees should not be raised and the income of the zoo should rationalized.

Talking to reporters after the visit, he said development work in progress at the zoo has been completed on PC1.

“We strive to provide citizens with a better environment for recreation. We are starting a big project very soon. The government is going to build a safari park on a thousand acres.”

The minister said that the existing safari park has been improved, adding, I am not 100% satisfied with the development work at the zoo but the work has been done.

One project has been completed at the zoo, others are about to start soon.Nasir Shah said he had taken notice of the Aladdin Park case.
