Gwadar Clearance Operation leaves 10 Terrorists Dead, including Female Attacker: ISPR

QUETTA – Pakistani forces gunned down at least 10 terrorists, including a woman, in operations across Gwadar and surrounding areas after attackers targeted locations near the Gabd Border Crossing and inside the coastal city, ISPR said.

As per military’s media wing said one civilian was killed and several vehicles were damaged in the October 22 attacks. However, security personnel suffered no casualties during the subsequent clearance operations, according to the Inter-Services Public Relations. ISPR said troops secured the affected areas, eliminated the attackers in separate engagements and restored order after foiling attempts to challenge the writ of the state.

Security forces launched the clearance operations to protect residents and prevent further violence in and around Gwadar. The ISPR said the attacks were aimed at undermining Balochistan’s development and prosperity while endangering the very communities the perpetrators claimed to represent.

The presence of a female attacker also drew condemnation from the military, which alleged that the woman had been coerced into participating. It accused terrorist groups of exploiting Baloch women for propaganda and to inflame public sentiment, describing the alleged coercion as contrary to Baloch and Islamic traditions. ISPR maintained that the people of Balochistan had repeatedly rejected violence committed in their name.

It said counterterrorism operations would continue at full pace under Azm-e-Istehkam, approved by the Federal Apex Committee on the National Action Plan. Security forces and law enforcement agencies remained determined to eliminate foreign-sponsored and supported terrorism, the statement added.

Field Marshal Asim Munir vows Continued Action

Chief of Army Staff and Chief of Defence Forces Field Marshal Syed Asim Munir pledged continued operations against what he described as Indian-sponsored terrorist groups, saying they would face forceful action wherever they were found.

During a visit to Corps Headquarters in Peshawar, he received briefings on the security situation, counterterrorism operations, border management and the preparedness of formations deployed in the province, according to the ISPR.

Munir praised the morale and professionalism of officers and troops, directing them to maintain vigilance and the highest standards of operational readiness to respond effectively to threats.
