China’s Ambassador to Pakistan Nong Rong called on Chief of Army Staff (COAS) General Qamar Javed Bajwa at the military’s headquarters in Rawalpindi. Ambassador Rong Bajwa discussed matters of mutual interest including CPEC and defence cooperation.
“Matters of mutual interest, bilateral defence cooperation and regional security situation including CPEC (China-Pakistan Economic Corridor) were discussed during the meeting,” Inter-Services Public Relations said in a statement on Monday. Gen Qamar while referring to recent visit of Chinese defence minister to Pakistan said it will further strengthen Islamabad’s time-tested relations with “our Iron Brother”, according to the military’s media wing. Pakistan and China last month signed a Memorandum of Understanding to further deepen cooperationaazaxa between the two countries’ armies during the visit of Chinese General Wei Fenghe to Islamabad.
