Islamabad Women Can Now Get Free Scooty Riding Training At Uraan Driving School

ISLAMABAD – Women in capital city Islamabad gets golden opportunity to hit roads with confidence, as Islamabad Traffic Police announced free scooty training programme for their daily commute.

The initiative, announced on October 26–27, will run from November 1 to November 15, 2026, offering women the opportunity to learn scooty riding under the supervision of experienced female police officers. The training sessions will take place at Uraan Driving School, located at Islamabad Traffic Police Headquarters in Faizabad, where participants will receive practical guidance in a safe and supportive environment.

Chief Traffic Officer (CTO) Islamabad Kainat Azhar Khan announced the initiative as part of efforts to encourage women’s independence, improve road safety and make everyday transportation easier. For female students, working professionals and homemakers who depend on public transport or family members for their daily travel, the programme could open the door to greater freedom and convenience.

Free Scooty Training

The 15-day initiative is designed to help beginners develop practical riding skills while building the confidence required to navigate city roads safely.

The venue is not new to women’s driving education. Uraan Driving School was inaugurated in February 2026 by Inspector General of Police Syed Ali Nasir Rizvi as a dedicated facility for women interested in learning how to operate scooties, motorcycles and cars. The school focuses on practical driving lessons, road safety awareness and traffic regulations under the supervision of female instructors.

Its first batch reportedly saw around 100 women successfully complete their training in March 2026, followed by another batch of learners. Previous courses at the institution have lasted between 15 and 21 days, with certificates also awarded to participants upon completion of their training. The latest programme marks another effort to expand women’s access to independent transportation in the capital.

Register for Free Scooty Training

Details regarding eligibility, age restrictions, required documents, class timings and available seats have not been officially clarified. However, interested applicants can contact Islamabad Traffic Police through its official X account, @ICT_Police, or its helplines, 1915 and 1715.

A contact number previously associated with Uraan Driving School, 0325-2786915, may also be useful, although applicants should verify whether it remains active for the November programme. Women are advised to confirm registration requirements and training schedules before visiting the centre.

The government is offering free scooty-riding lessons, not free scooties. Participants will receive practical instruction without paying training fees, but the initiative does not include the distribution of motorcycles or scooties.
