Indian all-rounder Irfan Pathan is yet to be fit to play to participate in the ongoing Lanka Premier League (LPL), according to Farveez Maharoof, the manager of the Kandy Tuskers team.
During the inaugural match against Colombo Kings on November 26, the 38-year-old Irfan Pathan sustained hamstring injury and could not deliver the last ball of his second over. Kusal Mendis had to complete the over.
“He is not fit yet but our medical team is working hard to make him play and we are hopeful he will be available to play later in the tournament”.
Physio Lasantha Ekanayake and Dr. Chaminda Gunathilake are monitoring his fitness on a day to day basis, it is learnt here.
Dressing rooms Four different teams prepared for the second double headers on Monday.
Hambantota is Sri Lanka’s first venue having four dressing rooms.
“The dressing rooms are excellent. There are separate routes for each dressing room and we are not required to wait till the first double header teams vacate their dressing rooms”, Maharoof added.
“These additional two dressing rooms are built for the purpose of the LPL. But when SLC plays the league matches, it would be utilized”, Ashley de Silva, the SLC CEO, informs.
