A pregnant woman was tortured to death by her husband and his other family members. According to police, Rida Bibi (24) was brutally tortured and fatally injured by her husband, Ali Haider and other in-laws including, Ali’s father, Muhammad Anwar, mother Shakila Bibi, brother Usama and sisters Saadia and Muqaddas on Saturday evening in Huterpura, in the limits of the Muradpur police station.
The woman, who was four months pregnant, died on the way to a local hospital due to severe injuries sustained. The accused family managed to escape arrest by leaving their house. It is told that the accused family used to often beat and torture the woman over one or another reason. The police have registered a case against six accused family members mentioned above and started investigations.
Meanwhile two youths were killed and one was injured in two separate road mishaps. According to police, in the first incident, two speeding motor cycles collided near village Slanenke, in the limits of the Sabzpir police station, and as a result rider of one motor cycle, Aoun Abbas was killed at the spot while his companion, Sulaims received injuried. In the other incident, a speeding car driven by Shahid alias ‘King’, hit and killed a pedestrian, Nauman, in village Bhanoke, in the limits of the Moutrah police station. The police have registered a case against the accused car driver.
