Punjab Assembly Speaker and PML-Q President Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Sunday called into question sincerity of Nawaz Sharif, saying that how head of the PML-N who has intentions against the country and army can be well-wisher of the masses.
Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi was talking to a delegation led by Khizer Hayat Gopang which called on him at his residence on Sunday. PML-Q Punjab General Secretary Senator Kamil Ali Agha was also present on the occasion.
Delegation included Mohammad Nawab Gopang, Kashid Hayat Gopang and Khalil Khan Jatoi.
On the occasion, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that in the upcoming local bodies elections, the PML-Q’s real contest will be with those who usurped rights of the people for 10 years, adding that Pakistan Muslim League will take part in the local elections across Punjab province.
He stressed that political figures imbued with spirit of service to the people and they are duty bound to spare no effort for prosperity of the masses. He said that the local bodies system is the best system to serve public, in which fundamental problems of the people are solved at their doorsteps.
Keeping in view the upcoming local bodies elections, Ch Pervaiz Elahi nominated Khizer Hayat Gopang as candidate for the slot of Nazim tehsil Alipur, district Muzaffargarh. Tasking him with mass political contact throughout the tehsil, Ch Pervaiz Elahi advised that politic actually means public service and those who serve masses become public leaders.
He stressed that every politician should always work for prosperity of the masses and that should be his/her first and foremost priority.
Expressing gratitude to Ch Pervaiz Elahi, Khizer Hayat Gopang said that he and his group has completed preparations for the elections in Town Committee Khairpur, Sadaat Town Committee, Haibetpur, Ghulloon Town Committee and Municipal Corporation.
He said it is an honour for him to contest election from the umbrella of PML-Q or be part of the party. He pledged that he will spare no efforts to come up to the expectations of the party and public at large.
SHUJAAT VOWS EFFORTS FOR JOURNALISTS WELFARE
A delegation of Journalists comprising Karachi Press Club Secretary Armaan Sabir, Joint Secretary Saqib Zaheer and Secretary Vigilance Khalil Nasir called on Pakistan Muslim League (PML) President and former Prime Minister Ch Shujat Hussain at his residence here on Sunday.
Talking to the delegation, Ch Shujat Hussain said that the journalist community should bring well-wishers of the country to the fore and give importance to what they say so that the nation gets right guidance. Karachi Press Club office-bearer apprised him about the problems and also invited him to visit the Press Club.
They said that they are grateful to Ch Shujaat as after his statement payments were made to the media owners and we also got salaries but in some institutions still three months arrears are outstanding.
On the occasion Ch Shujat pledged that he will talk to the media owners and try to get journalists problems resolved.
