Srinagar

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, Tehreek-e-Wahdat-e-Islami, a constituent of All Parties Hurriyat Conference (APHC), has said that the Kashmiri people, while challenging Indian tyranny, are treading the path showed by Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) in Karbala.
The TWI spokesman in a statement issued in Srinagar, today, paying rich tributes to those recently martyred by the occupation troops across the occupied territory, said that New Delhi had turned IIOJK into another Karbala particularly during the last 30 years. He also paid homage to the mourners who defied restrictions imposed by the authorities to thwart Muharram processions this year. He said that the mourners despite being showered with pellets and bullets took to the streets and proved that they were the true followers of Imam Hussain (RA) and were ready to die to carry his mission of truth and justice forward.
The spokesman said that the brutalities being committed by the RSS-backed Narendra Modi government against the Kashmiris exposed India’s tall claims of being the largest democracy of the world. He said that Modi’s extremist government was using every tool of repression against the Kashmiri people for demanding their inalienable right to self-determination.
The TWI spokesman maintained that Yazid would always be remembered as a tyrant in the history while Hazrat Imam Hussain (RA) would remain a flag-bearer of truth and justice and would inspire freedom lovers for times to come.
Terming Narendra Modi as Yazid of the time, the spokesman said that Modi’s name would also be written as a tyrant and oppressor in the annals of history.
Expressing solidarity with the families of the martyred youth and with those injured during Muharram processions, he said that the Kashmiris would not give in to India’s brutalities till achieving freedom from its bondage.—KMS
