9 held for protesting against demolition drive

In Indian illegally occupied Jammu and Kashmir, nine persons were arrested by police in Jammu for holding protest against the authorities’ so-called anti-encroachment.

The persons were arrested after they along with others held protest against the demolishing of a vehicle showroom in Malik Market in Narwal bypass area of Jammu district. The owner of the showroom, Sajad Ahmed Beigh, is among those arrested.

A senior police officer while confirming the detentions claimed that they have arrested nine persons in connection with stone pelting that took place during an anti-encroachment drive in the area, adding the detained are being questioned at Trikuta Nagar police station.—KMS
