19 Killed, over 56 injured in street crimes during Ramazan

The Karachi police are facing a significant challenge in controlling the rising incidents of street crimes in the city, with 19 fatalities and over 56 injuries reported during the month of Ramadan alone. According to a report, the police authorities have released figures related to killings in robbery incidents, revealing that a total of 59 civilians have lost their lives due to street crimes since January, with more than 200 individuals sustaining injuries.

Police officials disclosed that in the previous year of 2023, a total of 108 fatalities and 471 injuries were recorded in street crime-related incidents. The data further indicates that Karachi witnessed 425 confrontations with dacoits in the past year, resulting in the deaths of 55 suspected robbers and injuries to 439 individuals.

Authorities emphasized their efforts to curb street crimes in the city, acknowledging the pressing need for effective measures to address the situation.
