Yasra Rizvi vows to raise a feminist son

Yasra Rizvi has always been one to speak her mind and ensure that the projects she chooses to perform on screen represent her views, and she now wants to take her activism to the next level. The star of Churails has vowed to make the world a better place by concentrating on raising her kid properly.

The new mother has pledged to raise a feminist son after giving birth lately.

“I vow to raise a son who is kind, humane, fair, compassionate, and respectful. A man with whom women, children, transgenders, other men, animals, every living feeling safe,” she said. “Who is not threatened by women and their agency, who doesn’t take their vulnerability as a license to exploit, whose first response is to empathize, who doesn’t blame the victim.”

Rizvi said that her kid will be taught to value human life and that it is not for anybody to take.  “[I will raise a son] who knows that every human being has the right to choose, prosper and shine, who knows that he can’t touch or for that matter speak to anyone without their consent, who UNDERSTANDS that being a man is not a privilege it’s a responsibility!” she exclaimed.

She went on to say that she has no clue what we can do about the monsters that live among us or the charade of a society we are a part of, but that her answer, apart from protesting, is to be a part of the change that is required for a better future, and that she can start now.

“Be more mindful while raising your sons, pay that extra attention to your boys and what they are getting away with, STOP them now from becoming the problem tomorrow,” she said.

Ibn e Adam is Rizvi’s first child with her husband Abdul Hadi, whom she married in 2016.
