ISLAMABAD – Yadgar-e-Fatah Islamabad is being inaugurated with grand ceremony marking the country’s Independence Day celebrations.
The ceremony brought together contingents representing the Pakistan Armed Forces, Civil Armed Forces, Azad Jammu and Kashmir, and Gilgit-Baltistan, while thousands of citizens gathered to witness the event and celebrate the occasion in a highly patriotic atmosphere.
Situated along Islamabad’s H-8 Main Expressway, the monument has been conceived as a tribute to Marka-e-Haq, reflecting themes of national resilience, defence and unity.
Rising approximately 80 feet high and spanning 150 feet in width, the imposing structure has quickly emerged as a distinctive addition to Islamabad’s architectural landscape.
The inauguration drew considerable public attention, with citizens arriving from different parts of the capital. Many attendees waved the national flag, turning the ceremony into a vibrant expression of patriotism and national solidarity.
Beyond its monumental architecture, Yadgar-e-Fatah incorporates modern visual technology. A permanent 3D projection-mapping system has been installed to illuminate the monument’s architectural features, including its arches, columns and marble surfaces, creating an evolving nighttime spectacle.
The monument is expected to feature projection shows on weekend nights, giving visitors an additional attraction and making the site a potential focal point for public gatherings and tourism. The project’s structural and stonework components were undertaken by the Frontier Works Organisation (FWO).
