A two-day provincial workshop on the draft of Sindh Climate Change Policy and linkages with UNSDCF (United Nations Sustainable Development Cooperation Framework ) Outcome-3 on Climate Change and Indus River Basin Management and WFP’s Country Strategic Plan concluded which was organized by World Food Programme in collaboration with Environment, Climate Change and Coastal Development Department, Government of Sindh and facilitated by HANDSPakistan and Hisaar Foundation.
Ismail Rahoo, Provincial Minister for Environment & Climate Change, Coastal Development, and Board & Universities opened the workshop yesterday (Wednesday) and said in his opening remarks that together we can act more effectively to combat the adverse effects of climate change.
He said that the purpose of conducting a series of workshops on the draft of the subject policy is to make it an all-encompassing document for establishing an effective framework for mitigation and adaptation in all spheres of life.
He said that once the process of consultation will conclude then it will be forwarded to the Cabinet of Sindh for its approval and thereafter further process will be initiated to implement it in letter and spirit.
