ISLAMABAD – A Business Class passenger travelling through Islamabad International Airport has complained about being denied access to the Fast Track facility despite holding a boarding pass marked “Fast Track.”
The passenger, who travelled on Emirates flight EK613, said Business Class travellers had previously been allowed to use the Fast Track lane, but he was told during his latest journey that the facility was now reserved for passengers using the airport’s Khushamdeed service.
According to the passenger, Khushamdeed users pay a fee of around $50 for the premium service.
He questioned why Business Class passengers should have to pay an additional amount for Fast Track access when their boarding passes already indicate the facility.
“I am already paying a substantial premium to fly Business Class, in addition to the higher taxes and fees charged to passengers. Why should I have to pay Kushamdid another $50 to receive Fast Track service when my Business Class boarding pass already says “Fast Track”? he said.
The passenger, who also described himself as elderly, said long queues at immigration and final security were particularly difficult. He claimed the Khushamdeed lane was almost empty while other passengers faced lengthy queues.
He said he raised the issue with Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) desks at the airport but was told that the matter could only be addressed by contacting the relevant authorities.
The passenger urged airport management to reconsider the current arrangement and suggested that the Fast Track lane be consolidated to accommodate Khushamdeed customers, diplomats, Business Class travellers, elderly passengers and people with special needs.
The complaint comes after Islamabad International Airport launched its Premium Meet & Greet/Concierge Service, “Khushamdeed,” last month (August 2026).
The service is aimed at enhancing passenger facilitation and includes a dedicated host, assistance with luggage and access to an exclusive VIP lane designed to help passengers avoid crowds and waiting times.
The passenger said his experience three months earlier had been smooth and efficient, but described his latest airport experience as disappointing and urged authorities to review the policy.
