ISLAMABAD – Federal Interior Minister Mohsin Naqvi has inaugurated Islamabad Police’s modern Command, Control, Communication and Coordination (C4) Centre, aimed at strengthening the monitoring, coordination and operational capabilities of the capital’s police force.
The new centre will enable the Inspector General (IG) of Islamabad Police to directly monitor and command Safe City operations, police activities and the overall law and order situation from his office.
Naqvi said the modern facility would significantly improve the police force’s command, monitoring, coordination and rapid decision-making mechanisms. He said Safe City and other key operational systems of Islamabad Police would be connected through a centralised command and control platform.
In the event of an emergency or security situation, the IG Islamabad will be able to monitor developments in real time and issue immediate instructions to the relevant teams, he added.
The interior minister said the use of modern artificial intelligence (AI) and technology-based systems would further improve police performance, response times and monitoring of field forces.
During his visit, Naqvi inspected different sections of the centre and reviewed its modern monitoring and command systems. He was briefed on the integrated system linked with Safe City, police operations, field-force monitoring, emergency response mechanisms and AI-based technologies.
Naqvi said the primary objective of the new centre was to provide the IG Islamabad with a central platform for effective command and monitoring of the entire police force.
He said the system would also improve communication and coordination among different police units, enabling authorities to receive timely information, make quick decisions and ensure a faster response to emergencies.
“Through modern technology, we aim to further strengthen the systems of police command, monitoring and accountability,” Naqvi said.
He added that the centre would enable authorities to effectively monitor police performance in the field.
“Protection of citizens, improvement in police performance and maintenance of law and order in Islamabad are our top priorities,” the interior minister said.
The Islamabad IGP, senior police officials and other relevant officers were also present at the inauguration ceremony.
