ISLAMABAD – Pakistani showbiz star Momina Iqbal sparked a new debate on social media as she accused Member of Punjab Assembly from ruling PML-N of continuous online harassment, cyberbullying, and life threats.
The Saaya actress alleged that despite filing multiple complaints, law enforcement agencies including police, the FIA, and the NCCIA have failed to take effective action. She further claimed that individuals linked to the office of Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif attempted to suppress the matter. Momina warned that if the situation continues to be ignored, she will be forced to hold a public press conference and present supporting evidence.

Amid outrage online, it turned out that Momina accused Punjab Assembly MPA Saqib Chaddar PP-97 (Chiniot-IV) in harrasment case. She also mentioned Chaddar’s wife Sumaira in a complaint lodged with NCCIA which summoned the accused couple for investigation.

In a detailed Instagram statement, Iqbal said she has been subjected to a sustained campaign of “mental torture, online abuse, and serious threats,” allegedly involving a politically influential figure. She maintained that repeated efforts to seek justice have not yielded results, which she attributed to political pressure and interference in the process.
She further stated that she formally approached the National Cyber Crime Investigation Agency (NCCIA), after which the accused MPA and his wife were reportedly summoned for questioning. The case is now said to be under investigation by cybercrime authorities.
The actress also alleged that instead of ensuring a fair probe, individuals connected to the provincial leadership attempted to discourage her from pursuing the complaint, which she described as an effort to silence and pressure her.
Momina added that following her public statements, she and her family have been facing increased security concerns and threats. She said the situation has escalated into a serious safety issue.
Describing the ordeal as deeply distressing, she urged authorities to provide immediate protection and take strict legal action against those involved. She reiterated that she would not remain silent if justice is denied.
In her appeal to Punjab Chief Minister Maryam Nawaz Sharif, the actress demanded an impartial and transparent investigation, stressing that no individual should be above the law.
Meanwhile, reports suggest that the NCCIA has initiated proceedings and summoned the accused MPA and his wife for investigation. The case continues to attract widespread attention amid growing debate over cyber harassment and alleged political influence in such matters.
