Due to the failure of the local government in providing basic civic services, people residing in rural areas of this district have formed welfare societies in most of the villages.
The societies provide services in the field of sanitation and cleanliness and have installed water filtration plants to provide clean water to inhabitants of their respective villages.
They have also started the construction and maintenance of drainage and sewerage system to keep the climate-friendly environment.
These welfare organizations work on self-help bases and donations made by their co-villagers serving abroad. Lakhnewala, Kot Baluch, Sohawa Bolani, and Hardo-Bohat are prominent welfare societies for their good performance.
