ISLAMABAD – Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD) on Saturday forecast rain at isolated places in northeastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir on Saturday, while hot and humid weather is expected to prevail across most parts of the country.
The Met Office predicted that Karachi witnessed cloudy conditions during the early morning hours. However, the weather is expected to remain generally hot and humid in most other regions throughout the day.
The PMD said scattered rainfall is likely in parts of northeastern Punjab, upper Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Kashmir, offering some relief from the prevailing heat.
Meanwhile, Nokkundi recorded the highest maximum temperature in the country on Friday at 45°C. Dalbandin, Jacobabad and Dadu followed with 44°C, while Sukkur recorded 43°C.
The maximum temperature reached 41°C in Multan, Dera Ghazi Khan, Sargodha and Chilas. Muzaffarabad recorded 39°C, while Lahore, Islamabad, Peshawar, Quetta and Gilgit each recorded a maximum temperature of 38°C.
The Met Office has advised the public to take necessary precautions against the ongoing hot and humid weather, particularly during daytime hours, while residents of areas expected to receive rain should remain updated on the latest weather advisories.
