LAHORE – Intermittent rains and windstorms with isolated hailstorms are expected in Lahore and parts of Punjab on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), a shallow westerly wave prevails over the upper parts of Pakistan. Moist currents are also penetrating northeastern parts of the country.
Under these conditions, intermittent rains and windstorms with isolated hailstorms are expected in Murree, Galiyat, Rawalpindi, Attock, Chakwal, Mianwali, Jhelum, Sialkot, Narowal, Gujranwala, Hafizabad, Mandi Bahauddin, Lahore, Sheikhupura, Okara, Kasur, Sargodha, Khushab, Bhakkar, Layyah, Faisalabad, Sahiwal, Pakpattan and Khanewal on Tuesday night and Wednesday.
Windstorms are also expected in Multan, Bahawalpur, Bahawalnagar, Dera Ghazi Khan and surrounding areas. Hot and dry weather is expected elsewhere in the province, while very hot in plain areas. Windstorms, hailstorms, and lightning may damage loose structures like electric poles, trees, vehicles and solar panels, etc.
Lahore’s maximum temperature will likely remain between 39°C and 41°C on Wednesday and between 40°C and 42°C on Thursday.
Meanwhile, hot and dry weather prevailed in most districts of Punjab during the last 24 hours. Very hot weather prevailed in the plain areas. However, rains and windstorms occurred at isolated places.

Bahawalpur and Multan remained the hottest places in Punjab, where the maximum temperature was recorded at 40°C. The maximum temperature in Dera Ghazi Khan was recorded at 38°C, and in Attock at 37°C.
In Lahore, the maximum temperature was recorded at 36°C. Relative humidity in the evening was recorded at 28 per cent.
