We are not competitors, Elahi tells government


Punjab Assembly Speaker Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi on Friday criticised the government committee saying that a new committee constituted every time but the promises made to them still unfulfilled.
Pervaiz Elahi met the delegation of the Council of Pakistan Newspaper Editors (CPNE).
He said that one after another committee was surfacing each day. “We want the government to work and complete its tenure”, he asserted, adding that they always support their partners in good faith, and the coalition partners must not be considered unimportant.
“Government should not consider allied party competitors and should comply all the promises made at the time of alliance,” Chaudhry Pervez Elahi said
He said the affairs with the old government committee formed to remain in touch with allied parties was working nicely but it was unclear why was a new committee formed.
He mentioned that the government should fulfill all the promises made with the allied parties. He said that they always respected the agreements and work with patience.
He expressed that they knew that they will also be affected if any harm comes to the government, for which they were trying to bring reform to avoid any misfortune. “We are also partners of the incumbent government and following the policy of wait and improvement,” he added.
He said that the issue of occupied Kashmir has been greatly highlighted at global level. He added Prime Minister Imran Khan was fighting the Kashmir case in a remarkable way after Zulfikar Ali Bhutto.
