AHMEDABAD – A passenger plane of Air India with 242 on board crashed shortly after taking off from an airport in Ahmedabad in western India on Thursday.
The plane reportedly crashed in residential area of Meghani Nagar while the reasons behind the deadly incident are yet to be determined.
Air India also issued a statement confirming the incident. “Flight AI171, operating Ahmedabad-London Gatwick, was involved in an incident today, 12 June 2025. At this moment, we are ascertaining the details and will share further updates at the earliest,” it wrote on X.
