Fundamental necessities?

Balochistan suffers from numerous problems. However for Baloch children fundamental necessities like food, clothing and shelters seems to be an out of syllabus task.

They have been facing issue of poverty, which compels them to work as labourers at young ages.

Child labour is widely considered, as major violation of human rights and government seems to be paying no attention to this issue.

In Balochistan, small children are found as labourers and it is so disheartening. At an age where they ought to enjoy their lives and studies they are busy in earning incomes for their families to feed them.

One more reason of these children for not joining educational institutions is that they cannot afford stuff that is required in schools.

I request Balochistan government to pay proper attention to such children and get them admitted in educational institutions with provision of fundamental necessities.

Chomsky on Afghanistan

The Taliban reclaimed power over Kabul without firing a single bullet as they vowed to become tolerant and inclusive this time

Contrary to their promises, women and ethnic minorities weren’t given their share in power and promised rights.

Furthermore, many were killed and Afghanistan remained a battleground between the US and different militant groups.

Keeping in mind the current situation, sanctions and isolation seem inevitable for Afghans, which will likely deteriorate Afghanistan’s conditions.

Making Afghanistan a pariah state will make it a “safe haven” for terrorists but hell for its citizens and neighbours.

Noam Chomsky argued that by withholding funds and isolating Afghanistan, US would only harm laymen as it did in Iraq & Iran.

Economic sanctions and military operations didn’t curb terrorism rather spread it across the Muslim world.

The world only had Al-Qaeda to fight two decades ago but the US’s unwitting policies gave birth to ISIS, Taliban, TTP, ISS-K and various organizations.

Moreover, it was the US military action that killed and still kills scores of civilians making Taliban their messiah, although out of fear and unavailability of options.

The US is, thus, responsible for Afghanistan’s present condition and terrorism in Muslim world.

Afghanistan’s issue should be diplomatically sorted out as intellectuals like Noam Chomsky suggest as it was and still is, the only solution.

But it’s impossible to take place until Western leaders cease to play fear politics to convince the world for another military action.

Furthermore, China appears as a prominent stakeholder in Afghanistan, requiring a peaceful Afghanistan to pursue its economic goals.

However, a joint effort from world leaders is needed to settle the situation and not let it become a proxy cauldron else it’d poison the world.

Rain related miseries

With arrival of rain in Karachi, all types of challenges begin bothering citizens. Despite being economical capital of Pakistan, Karachi lacks proper drainage, transport and power systems that can withstand rainfalls.

Similarly, when rain lashed the city last month drainage system collapsed, roads were damaged and electricity went out.

Perhaps, this has made it insecure for masses to move on roads or nearby areas and forced to stay at homes.

Moreover, this isn’t the first time Karachi has fallen off track due to minor rainfalls as it floods almost every time it rains.
I urge Sindh government to establish a better and proper system that works well during rain and doesn’t put people lives at stake.

The government also needs to manage all systems to remove obstacles being faced by citizens.

Cell phone addiction

According to the University of Chicago, “social media is more addictive than a cigarette” because it is a nice way to waste your time.

Addiction of social media can lead users to develop a variety of health-related problems like anxiety, depression, back-bone issues and damaging of eye vision. Despite the harmful effects of social media, the import of cell phones in Pakistan is increasing on a yearly basis.

If we take a glance at the import of mobiles into the country it increased 69.25 percent during the first six months of the current financial year (2019-20) as compared to last year’s. I request the parents to encourage their children to spend less time on social media, buy books and novels for them and encourage sports instead.

Rousseau of subcontinent

Sir Syed Ahmed Khan was the only one who tried his best to pull the Muslims from servants to sovereignty.

The War of Independence in 1857 resulted in the victory of the British leaving the Muslims and Hindus in the lurch.

Since the accusation was given to the Muslims, Sir Syed Ahmed Khan exonerated them through references in his book, Asbab-i- Baghawat-i-Hind, the causes of Indian revolt that not only the Muslims are the reason for the war but also Hindus.

Since he was intellectual and strategic and knew the British psyche, he sought that education is the only key to bringing rehabilitation to the image of the Muslims. He started to contribute to the spread of education.

The best-known work of Sir Syed is the establishment of Ali Garh school in 1875 then college in 1877, later university in 1920.
