LAHORE – Veteran Pakistani comedian and stage actor Allah Rakha Pepsi passed away at the age of 50 after suffering a cardiac arrest during the recording of a television programme in Lahore.
The comedian suddenly collapsed while filming a show and was immediately rushed to a nearby hospital in critical condition. Despite emergency medical treatment, doctors were unable to save him and later confirmed his death.
The sudden demise of the veteran performer has sent shockwaves through Pakistan’s entertainment industry, with fellow artists, colleagues, and fans expressing grief over the loss of one of the country’s well-known comedy figures.
Funeral prayers for Allah Rakha Pepsi were offered on Monday evening. Family members, relatives, friends, and members of the entertainment fraternity attended the funeral, after which he was laid to rest at a cemetery near Mohni Road in Lahore.
Allah Rakha Pepsi was widely recognised for his contributions to Pakistani stage comedy and theatre. Over the years, he built a strong reputation through his comic timing, engaging performances, and ability to entertain audiences with both stand-up comedy and stage productions.
