Vehicles sale drops by 59pc

Vehicles sale shrank by 59 percent during the four months of the year 2023, Statistics of Pakistan Auto Manufacturing Association (PAMA) say that in the period of January to April 2023, 20182 vehicles were manufactured while 19708 vehicles were sold.

Whereas during the correspondence period of the last year, 77772 vehicles were manufactured and 76464 were sold. Similarly manufacturing of vehicles with engines above 1300 CC fell by 58 percent while their sales declined by 59 percent.

Likewise, the manufacturing of 1000cc engine vehicles decreased by 58% while their sales decreased by 59%, the manufacturing of vehicles with less than 1000cc engines decreased by 61% while their sales decreased by 60%.

According to PAMA statistics, truck manufacturing and sales fell by 59 percent, bus manufacturing by 69 percent, while sales fell by 67 percent. Similarly, manufacturing of jeeps and pickups saw a 63 percent decline, while their sales declined by 60 percent.

Factories’ manufacturing fell by 56 percent, while their sales fell by 55 percent. Manufacturing and sales of motorcycles declined by 61 percent.
