Bridging Cultures: Tourism Potential of Uzbekistan
Ambassador of Uzbekistan, AlisherTukhtaev, Friday expressed his country’s strong desire to deepen cooperation with Pakistan in tourism and cultural exchange.
At a ceremony titled “Bridging Cultures: Tourism Potential of Uzbekistan” held at a local hotel, the envoy expressed this desire.
He also announced the formal appointment of wellknown expert and explorer of Uzbekistan Mr Hamid Mahmood as Brand Ambassodar of Uzbekistan Tourism. The ambassador congratulated him and wished and hoped with his appointment, relations between Uzbekistan and Pakistan would flourish further leading to greater tourism opportunities. Th ambassador also announced doubling of Tashkent-Islamabad flights (Tuesday and Saturday) from Oct 28 in view of increasing number of tourists. One way flight is worth only $250 while the two way flight will cost only $400 with excellent facilities by the Uzbek Air and the travel time reduced to 1.30 hours, he announced to the sheer delight of the audience. The Uzbek ambassador said both nations had the potential to make Central and South Asia one of the most attractive and interconnected tourism regions in the world.
