ISLAMABAD – Finance Minister Muhammad Aurangzeb is all set to present the budget for fiscal year 2025-26 with total outlay over Rs17,600 billion at the National Assembly today (June 10, 2025).

The upcoming budget, which is broadly in line with the International Monetary Fund (IMF) conditions, is expected to introduce new taxes or increase existing ones. However, there is a good news for those who are planning to buy used imported cars in next fiscal year.

The government is expected to reduce import duties on used vehicles imported from abroad and extending age limit for imports to five years from current three years.

If the proposal is approved, the prices of used imported cars expected to decreased by up to Rs1 million or 10 lac rupees in next fiscal year.

Pakistan Motor Dealers Association (APMDA) officials hope these steps lower the prices of small Japanese cars such as Toyota Aqua and others.

Dealers Association Chairman said the federal government may announce cut in customs duties on imported used vehicles next month. The permissible age limit for imported cars may be increased from 3 to 5 years.

The prices of used imported small cars could cost up to Rs2 million if the proposal are approved by the parliament in the upcoming budget.
