More than 200 of entrepreneurs and farmers attended a gender-inclusive agricultural technology demonstration in District Sahiwal. USAID Pakistan Agricultural Technology Transfer Activity (PATTA) organized the event in connection with the International Day of Rural Women.
Women farmers showed interest in the technologies on display and purchased tools and equipment offered at discounted prices by PATTA-supported private sector agri-tech companies. PATTA also hosted a session for women farmers to increase awareness about entrepreneurial opportunities, dealerships, and business models and provided information on available agricultural technology rental models for commercial prospects in Punjab.
Jamila Kauser, a female farmer from Khanewal said, “As rural women we are producing food for our families and managing livestock. I appreciate USAID’s efforts for introducing us to women-friendly agricultural technologies so that we can improve agricultural production in a cost-efficient and time-saving manner.”
