US condemns blasphemous remarks by India’s BJP members

Washington: Following the outrage caused by the blasphemous remarks by the members of India’s ruling BJP against the Holy Prophet (PBUH), the United States has condemned the offensive remarks and urged India to promote respect for human rights.

During a regular presser, the US State Department Spokesperson Ned Price said, “we regularly engage with the Indian government at senior levels on human rights concerns including freedom of religion or belief”. He also said that the US encourages India to promote respect for human rights.

Responding to a question, the spokesperson describing Pakistan as a partner said his country looks for ways to advance this partnership in a manner that serves mutual interests.
