ISLAMABAD – The Cabinet Division has issued a notification announcing that the Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad, and all Federal Government establishments will remain closed on Friday, December 26.
However, there will be no local holiday as hospitals, banks, offices providing essential services, the Metropolitan Corporation Islamabad, the Capital Development Authority (CDA), Islamabad administration, police, IESCO, and Sui Northern Gas offices will remain open on the designated holiday.
The notification was issued in response to a previous one which had stated that there will be working day for all federal government establishments on December 26.
“In suppression of Cabinet Division’s clarification of even number dated 24th December 2025, it is hereby notified that the Pakistan Secretariat, Islamabad, and all Federal Government establishments located within the Islamabad Capital Territory (ICT) shall remain closed on Friday, the 26th of December 2025,” the latest notification said.
“Hospitals, banks and offices of essential services, MCI, CDA, ICT Administration, ICT Police, IESCO and SNGPL shall, however, remain open,” it added.
