Real Madrid took care of business against Egypt’s Al Ahly to reach the final of the Club World Cup at a sold-out Prince Moulay Abdellah Stadium in Rabat.

Despite being a neutral venue, the stadium was covered in the famous white jerseys of Madrid with the majority of the support going towards the Champions League winners as they secured a 4-1 win.

Madrid, who have lacked their A-game since the start of the year, once again failed to find an early breakthrough despite dominating from the very first whistle.

Al Ahly were finally undone by Vinicius Jr in the 42nd minute after catching Mahmoud Metwaly lacking and dinking a finish over Mohammed El Shenawy for his 50th goal for Real Madrid.

Federico Valverde added a two-goal cushion for his side just after the break, tapping into an empty net after El Shenawy had saved Rodrygo’s point-blank shot.

The Egyptian side was given a lifeline when Eduardo Camavinga brought down Hussein El Shahat inside the area in the 65th minute and defender Ali Maaloul managed to beat Andriy Lunin from the resulting penalty to reduce the deficit.

Al Ahly then missed a chance to equalise before Luka Modric scuffed his lines from the penalty spot as the game drew to a close.

Rodrygo and substitute Sergio Arribas spared their side’s blushes with goals in the added minutes of the second half to secure their berth in the final.

Madrid will now take on Saudi Arabia’s Al Hilal in the final in Rabat on Sunday (00:00PKR) as they look to win their 5th Club World Cup title.
