ISLAMABAD – A disturbing sexual harassment scandal has been reported from Burewala campus of University of Agriculture, Faisalabad, as a clip allegedly showing a professor making lewd gestures toward female student went viral.
The student formally submitted a written complaint against Professor Yahya Khan last month, accusing him of sexual harassment. The video reportedly shows the professor not only making inappropriate gestures but also allegedly asking the student, “What will you intimacy with me for extra marks?”
In response to allegations, the university administration suspended Professor and terminated his enrollment at university.
The principal confirmed that the Harassment Committee, under the Vice Chancellor, is conducting a full inquiry, but a final report against the professor has not yet been released.
The scandal sparked outrage among students, faculty, and the public, raising serious questions about safety and accountability on university campuses.
This is not first such incident as number of similar cases reported in recent times. Last year, Government College University (GCU) Lahore’s faculty member was assaulted by students after allegedly harassing a female student. The incident has sparked outrage and gone viral online.
A clip circulating on social media shows female student physically attacking an assistant professor pulling his hair, punching, and slapping him while several other students reportedly joined in, striking the professor’s chair in what appears to be the staff room. The footage has left the academic community stunned and raised serious concerns about campus safety.
GCU administration has confirmed the incident, acknowledging that it involves sexual harassment allegations. In response, the Vice Chancellor has ordered a formal investigation, and a committee has been formed to conduct a thorough inquiry into the shocking events.
