A delegation of Ulema, headed by PML-N MPA Jalil Ahmad Sharaqpuri, called on Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch Pervaiz Elahi at his residence Sunday.
The delegation included Riaz Sultanul Hassan Shah, Mufti Syed Ashiq Hussain and Peer Akhtar Rasool Qadri among others, enquired after the health of former Prime Minister Ch Shujaat Hussain. The delegation members offered special prayers for early and complete recovery of the veteran politician.
On the occasion, MPA Jalil Sharqpuri said that Almighty Allah may bless you (Pervaiz Elahi) for raising voice for Tafuffuz–e-Islam Bill, Inshallah your name will be remembered in the history in this regard, Taffuz-e-e-Islam Bill should not be blocked there is concern among the ulema in this regard.” He said that Ch Pervaiz Elahi is the only political leader who got the legislation passed from Punjab Assembly and immediate ban imposed on indecent books containing humiliating material about the Holy Prophet (SAWW), Ummahatul Momineen, and other Sahaba Karam (RA) and got these books confiscated from the market. Pakistan Muslim League not only raised voice in this regard in the Punjab Assembly but also on all forums including National Assembly, on which we pay him rich tribute.
Expressing his gratitude to the ulema, Ch Pervaiz Elahi said that there will be no compromise on blasphemy of the Holy Prophet (SAWW), adding that sectarianism has already caused much damage to Pakistan, now on all these issues all Muslims will together have to raise voice on all forums so that the world can understand that for our Holy Prophet (PBUH) we all are one.
Jalil Ahmad Sharaqpuri also demand that action should be taken against the MPAs who humiliated Sunnah and Dastaar-e-Rasool in the compound of the Punjab Assembly.
