Pakistan Navy personnel lost their lives while carrying out security duties during a maritime patrol.
Pakistan Navy’s Directorate-General of Public Relations (DGPR) confirmed on Wednesday that Shoaibur Rehman (PMA-IV) and Ghufran Nasar (PMT-II) embraced martyrdom while performing patrol duties at sea to ensure security.
The announcement brought grief to the naval community as the two sailors were carrying out their assigned responsibilities at sea when they lost their lives.
Chief of Naval Staff Admiral Naveed Ashraf expressed deep sorrow over the loss of the two personnel and paid tribute to their service and sacrifice. Navy said senior officials attended the funeral prayers of the martyred sailors and later met their bereaved families, offering condolences and expressing solidarity with them during the difficult moment.

Pakistan Navy continues to maintain heightened focus on maritime security and the protection of Pakistan’s vital sea routes. The Navy launched Operation Muhafizul Bahr in March to counter multiple threats to national shipping and maritime trade amid a changing regional maritime security environment.
With around 90 per cent of Pakistan’s trade conducted by sea, safeguarding maritime routes remains crucial to the country’s economy, energy supplies and national interests.
