The Steel Town police have claimed to have arrested two suspects who belonged to the Balochistan police over allegation of stealing vehicles from the metropolis and recovered a stolen motorcycle from their possession.

The held suspects identified as Asif and Abdul Qadir were policemen posted in Lasbela, Balochistan, said Malir SSP Irfan Bahadur.

During the initial probe, the suspects revealed that they stole motorbikes and cars in Karachi and sold them in the Panjgur area of Balochistan.

The detained suspects were handed over to the Anti-Vehicles Lifting Cell of police for further investigation.

A man and a boy were shot at and wounded on the outskirts of the metropolis on Saturday.

The Moachko police said that Hajan Solangi, 26, and Mohammed Umar, eight, were shot and wounded by the firing of unknown suspects near Al-Badar Masjid on main Suparco Road.

The wounded persons were taken to the Dr Ruth Pfau Civil Hospital for treatment. The police suspected personal enmity behind the incident.

Meanwhile, A second major reason for acquittals, particularly of drug peddlers, was that seized narcotics were being sent to the chemical examiner very late.

That has also been addressed and, resultantly, the criminals are being convicted by model courts for narcotics set up last year in the metropolis.
