Twelve new additional judges were sworn in at the Sindh High Court. The oath was administered by Chief Justice Muhammad Shafi Siddiqui in a ceremony attended by senior judicial officials. The new appointees include Justices Miran Muhammad Shah, Tasneem Sultana, Hassan Akbar, Abdul Hamid Bhurgri, Jan Ali Junejo, Zeeshan Haider, Muhammad Jafar Raza, Khalid Hussain Shahani, Riyazat Ali Sahar, Faizul Hassan Shah, Nisar Ahmed, and Muhammad Usman Ali Hadi.
With these appointments, the total number of judges in the Sindh High Court has risen to 40, a move expected to improve the efficiency and timeliness of court proceedings.
The expansion comes as the judiciary faces growing caseloads, with many cases lingering in the system for extended periods. Legal experts have hailed the appointments as a step in the right direction, noting that the increased number of judges will help clear backlogs and deliver justice more swiftly to the people of Sindh.
