WASHINGTON – US President Donald Trump once again praised Chief of Army Staff (COAS) and Chief of Defence Forces (CDF) Field Marshal Asim Munir for his efforts in preventing a potential war between Pakistan and India.
Speaking at a press conference in Florida alongside the US Secretary of Defense and Secretary of the Navy, Trump recounted his role in preventing an imminent conflict between the two nuclear-armed nations.
Trump claimed that he had successfully stopped eight wars globally, including a potential nuclear conflict between Pakistan and India. He specifically recalled an incident in which eight fighter jets were shot down during the tense period.
He also described Field Marshal Asim Munir as a “highly respected” figure.
Trump emphasized that his intervention saved the lives of approximately 10 million people, citing the importance of diplomacy and international intervention.
During the same press conference, Trump also made a significant announcement about enhancing US naval power.
He revealed plans to develop the “Trump Class” warships, which he stated would be 100 times more powerful than current models.
Additionally, Trump outlined a major naval expansion, with the construction of 15 new submarines, claiming that the U.S. is now 15 years ahead of other nations in submarine technology.
He further asserted that neither China nor Russia could match the US in submarine capabilities, and these advancements would instill fear in US adversaries worldwide.
Trump also discussed efforts to modernize the US Navy, noting the significance of the “Victory” warship in ensuring American military dominance and revitalizing the US shipbuilding industry.
He underscored the importance of these developments in strengthening the U.S. Navy, declaring that America’s naval power is on track to become the strongest in the world.
